How we handle your calls and your data

A plain summary of what happens to a call, what we keep, who handles it and what we do not claim. The full legal text is in the terms and the privacy page.

What we do

  • Every call the receptionist answers opens by telling the caller it is an AI, and that a written transcript is saved.
  • We do not record or store call audio. Recording is not offered.
  • Transcripts, summaries and caller messages are deleted automatically after 90 days; backup copies roll off about a week after that.
  • Your data is shown to you through a private sign-in that opens only your business. We can see it to support and improve the service.
  • Bookings are enforced by our server, not left to the AI: it only books inside your hours and services, and never twice in one slot.
  • We never sell personal data. You can ask us to delete your data at any time, and we will.
  • This website uses no advertising trackers, no third-party scripts and no external fonts.

Who handles a call

Our phone provider (Twilio) carries the call and does speech recognition and voice. Our AI provider (Anthropic) writes the replies. Our hosting provider (Fly.io) runs the service, and an email provider delivers your alerts. Each handles data only to provide its service to us.

What we do not claim

We do not claim SOC 2, HIPAA or any other certification. Call Kettle is not set up for medical or legal records and does not take healthcare or legal clients. The AI is not an emergency service; callers in danger are told to call 911. It is software, so it can still get a call wrong, which is why you can read every call and why nothing goes live until you have approved it.
